Lafarge Cement Egypt Resumes Cement Production and Dispatch Activities

Cairo, Egypt - Sunday 6 February 2011: Lafarge Cement Egypt announced today that it has resumed its cement production and dispatch activities as of Saturday 5th February 2011.  The announcement comes to jumpstart the distribution of cement, following the recent events in Egypt last week, which have crippled distribution activities in Egypt and led to gradually decreasing production levels.

In an effort to fulfill the accumulated demand for cement in the Egyptian market, the company has decided to reopen its nationwide sales offices to receive customer's orders as of Sunday, 6 February 2011.

Lafarge is the world leader in building materials, with 78,000 employees in 78 countries.  In Egypt, Lafarge employs more than 2200 employee and operates the biggest cement plant in Middle East with 10 million tons annual production capacity.
