Lafarge Egypt launched its Vocational Training on Safety and Health Program in 2016, in cooperation with Suez Technical Education Directorate, in order to raise awareness about health and safety measures among technical schools students. The purpose of the program was to help them protect themselves and provide them with the necessary skills to join the workforce, as well as bridge the gap between their education and the job market requirements. Since its launch, the program has covered over 20 schools, and trained over 23,060 students & 208 technical teachers. The program is still running as part of the company’s belief in the important role which the private sector should play in supporting education.
