These efforts made by LafargeHolcim, the mother company of Lafarge Egypt, has been praised for its exemplary response to the COVID-19 pandemic, International SOS, the world's leading medical and travel security company supporting 10,000 multinational corporations worldwide, has announced LafargeHolcim's response as "the best-in-class benchmark” in terms of keeping health measure and prevention precautions facing (COVID-19) pandemic.

This recognition comes within the framework of LafargeHolcim's keenness to implement its key principles, and its subsidiaries', including Lafarge Egypt, whereby health and safety standards come as first priorities, considering them the most important core value of the company.

Commenting on this, Solomon Baumgartner Aviles, Lafarge Egypt Country CEO, has expressed Lafarge Egypt's commitment to protecting the health and safety of its workers, he said: "The health and safety of our employees is not just part of our core values, it's in our DNA, all whilst supporting Lafarge's partners and societies, and in full harmonization and coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Health.”

Mr. Solomon Aviles explained that LafargeHolcim, the mother company of Lafarge Egypt, has obtained this recognition after its subsidiaries' quick and wise response, dealing with the (COVID-19) pandemic with taking all the measures to protect the health of workers and employees.

Mr. Solomon Aviles added, "I would like to express my pride and appreciation for LafargeHolcim's obtaining the highest rating in its category in terms of maintaining international health and preventive standards according to International SOS. I thank all the employees of Lafarge companies in Egypt for their efforts and commitment to health standards, hoping that we can successfully cross this crisis together.”

Jan Jenisch, CEO of LafargeHolcim, said: "I extend my sincere gratitude to the companies of LafargeHolcim worldwide, as they responded quickly and ideally to the (COVID-19), and for continuing the vital work, so that we can play our role in combating this crisis, I especially thank all colleagues in the production lines who are still playing their roles and producing important services and materials under difficult lockdown conditions.”

Sending a message to all workers in production lines, Jan Jenisch said "You are real champions who engage in carrying out important work that serves our societies and supports health efforts all over the world starting from participation in the rapid construction of field emergency hospitals, passing by the purification of public places and the disposal of medical waste, reaching to the provision of critical personal protective equipment.”

It is worth mentioning that Lafarge Egypt's efforts in combating (COVID-19) are successive efforts since the start of the crisis, as Lafarge Egypt announced two months ago launching an initiative in Suez Governorate in cooperation with General Abdel Meguid Saqr, Governor of Suez, to provide thousands of masks, various protective products, disinfectants, and gloves for distribution according to the needs of the governorate. This initiative is based on Lafarge Egypt fundamental belief, that the private sector is a key partner in all aspects of development, and that it has to carry out its social responsibility role, believing only through this, we all CAN pass!
